RHONDA ABOUHANA (Adjunct Faculty) attended the Peabody Conservatory of Music where she earned her Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education and Vocal Performance and her Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance. Most recently, Rhonda was the Director of Upper School Music at an independent school in Baltimore, MD, where she taught choral music, music theory, music history, and elementary general music. She also served as the music director, vocal coach, and conductor for the musical theatre productions. Some of her music direction credits include Into the Woods, Jane Eyre: The Musical, and The Secret Garden. In addition to teaching, Rhonda has performed in recital, opera, musical theatre productions, and choral ensembles. Rhonda currently maintains a private voice teaching studio.
JASON MARKS (Adjunct Faculty) is an award-winning singer and actor in the metro Richmond area. Regional credits include A Funny Thing Happened On The Way to the Forum, Annie, Side Show, Guys & Dolls (Winner - Best Supporting Actor in a Musical, Richmond Theatre Critic's Circle Award), Once Upon A Mattress, Urinetown, Joseph...Dreamcoat, Cats, Das Barbecu, Disney's Beauty and the Beast, Seussical, Little Shop of Horrors, and many more. A classical vocalist as well, Jason has also performed in concert as a soloist with the Washington Chorus and the National Symphony at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC.
WILLIAM SOUTHERLAND (Adjuct Faculty) holds an MM in choral conducting from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a BA in music from Florida State University. A musician and actor all of his life, William has performed in many productions including Phantom, Godspell, 42nd Street, Little Shop of Horrors, Guys and Dolls, as well as Der Vampyr with the Florida State Opera. Currently, he is the full-time chorus teacher at Thompson Middle School in Richmond, VA where his students are consistently ranked Superior at regional competitions. He also acts as the school’s drama club moderator and last year directed and choreographed his school's very first musical, High School Musical, Jr. In addition to classroom teaching, William has given lectures at both local and state conferences on music pedagogy. William continues to pursue professional performing opportunities and has been a member of and featured soloist with the Richmond Men's Chorus.
