Laine has performed in, taught, choreographed, directed and devised theatre both nationally and internationally. She has worked at the Public Theatre and Lincoln Center in NYC and toured commedia dell’arte and solo shows through Europe. She holds a BFA from Tisch School of the Arts at NYU and has taught at the University of Eurasian Theatre, Stella Adler Conservatory, Aquila University, Virginia Governor’s School, Center for the Arts, Artspower, the Joan Oates Institute for Partners in the Arts, Centerstage, Company of Fools, private instruction and workshops in the states and abroad. Recent plays include Cadence Theatre Company’s Detroit, Virginia Repertory Theatre’s To Kill a Mockingbird, Carol Piersol’s Gidion’s Knot (RTCC Best Ensemble Acting Award 2013), Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (2012 Best Actress nomination, RTCC), and Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf (2011 Best Actress Award, RTCC). In addition to teaching theatre to all ages in the Richmond area, she is also adjunct faculty at VCU. She serves as Program Director for SPARC’s New Voices for the Theater, a statewide high school playwriting program and Director of Education for Cadence Theatre Company. She is a member of Actor’s Equity Association.
