Matthew moved to Richmond in the summer of 2010 after attending Virginia Tech for psychology. He started working at The Faison School for Autism in October of 2010 and has been loving it ever since, though he did take a short hiatus in 2013 to learn more about the culinary world of food trucks. His dream is to one day open up his own successful Richmond food truck. But for now, Matt couldn’t imagine doing any other job than teaching his students at the Faison Accelerated independent Learner Community. Matt isn’t so sure that they don’t teach him more about life than he teaches them. After volunteering for the first two years of LIVE ART he is super excited to be working on the project as a teacher. He thanks his beautiful wife for helping him find such a wonderful group of students and artists.
