Since 1981, SPARC has been setting the stage for life by serving youth, schools, families and communities throughout the capital region and Virginia. Its mission is to inspire young people (ages 5-18) to reach their full potential through quality training in the performing arts. SPARC is one of the most comprehensive providers of community-based theater arts training for young people in the nation.

A Timely Challenge Gift

SPARC will soon launch its 30th Anniversary in its own educational center, purchased in 2008. A $3.5 million comprehensive campaign is underway for capital enhancements, program expansion and initial endowment. To date, $2.0 million has been raised in early lead gifts. Now, Neil and Sara Belle November of Richmond have issued a 2 to 1, $300,000 Challenge Gift — SPARC must raise $600,000 in new gifts soon to meet their challenge. Their gift is the largest individual gift in SPARC’s history.

With your help, SPARC will continue to provide its distinctive resources to the region: performing arts training in the Center; in-school and after-school outreach to schools and neighborhoods; technical arts and performance opportunities; and community collaborations.

SPARC alumnus Jason Mraz has made available an exclusive package of concert tickets and related hospitality for auction at this year’s SPARCTACULAR.  The package will be auctioned in a live auction following the 7:45 performance.  The package includes:
